What DGAs really want to know.

Roughly above €120,000 profit. The real numbers depend on your withdrawal pattern and pension wishes. The calculator above shows your live break-even.

Not required by law, but strongly advised. A holding on top of the operating BV separates risk (operations) from capital (reserves, pension). On a sale, the participation exemption can be hugely beneficial.

Minimum is €56,000 (2026), or the highest of: the comparable role's salary, 75% of that, or the highest salary in your own BV. Boekhoudbuddies substantiates the right level for your admin.

Yes — tax-neutral contribution (no settlement on hidden reserves) or with settlement. We prepare the contribution balance and partner with a notary who handles incorporation for €495.

Since 2023: shareholder loans from your own BV above €700,000 are taxed in Box 2 (24.5% / 31%). We monitor the current account monthly and warn you before year-end.

For NL-resident DGAs we recommend a NL BV — tax treaties and the participation exemption work in your favour. A foreign holding (e.g. Malta, Cyprus) almost never delivers a net benefit.
